Flat // With my photos I want to show the image of the urban landscape. By shooting from a certain position I create a collage. An image like an abstract painting in which the lines play an important role. They challenge the viewer to decipher which building is in the front or in the back like an optical game. The image has become completely flat instead of spacious.

Booming Bijlmer // Bijlmermeer is a neighbourhood in Amsterdam that had a reputation of being problematic and dangerous. The city of Amsterdam decided that the neighbourhood needed some positive change. Nowadays the Bijlmer area is a modern place where you can find many high rise buildings and attractions like the Pathe ArenA multiplex cinema, the Heineken Music Hall, theatrical and music venues and so on.

The assignment was to make a photo in the style of another photographer. I made a picture in Ed van der Elsken's style.
